What is Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractors are trained to analyze the spine. They also work on the extremities, but the majority of their work centers on the spine and how it relates to the body. Chiropractors are trained to restore and/or maintain spinal health.

Spinal health means keeping the vertebrae moving as smoothly as possible. When vertebrae are not moving properly they can irritate the nerves and cause pain and discomfort. It is really no different than going to the dentist to make sure you gums and teeth are clean and healthy.

Understanding chiropractic care is the first step in unlocking the tremendous potential that it can do for your body, and your life. Chiropractic care is about functionality, and assessing and allowing the body to function at its highest level. Through an evaluation a chiropractor is able to recognize and treat neck, back, and other pain caused by physical disorders related to the spin, and the toll everyday life can take on our bodies.

Unlocking Your Bodies Potential

Many professional athletes have learned that working with a chiropractor makes them recover faster, and perform at a higher level. Chiropractic care offers a huge advantage for athletes where one point, or one second mark the difference between winning and losing.

Most major sports teams have their own chiropractor on staff.  These doctors can help the team recover from injuries much faster.  The speed of recovery is greatly enhanced by chiropractic care.  some of the worst injuries Dr. Maggio has treated are from sports injuries.  Even non contact sports such as golf can create spinal issues.  The spine is not designed to twist and turn at such high velocities.  Individual and team sports greatly benefit from chiropractic care.  Obviously the contact sports like foot ball and wrestling need chiropractic check ups.  Chiropractic and team sports are a healthy combination.
