- Deep tissue massage: This massage uses more forceful strokes. This will help reach the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The massage therapist will address chronic tight muscles, strains or injuries. This massage is best for someone who experiences chronic pain that limits mobility.
- Sports massage: This massage is beneficial to those who are physically active. This massage is designed to prevent and treat injuries. It also helps with flexibility and may help with athletic performance
- Trigger point massage: A trigger point massage is a tight area in muscle tissue. This can cause pain in other parts of the body. This type of massage is designed to specifically alleviate the source of pain. This happens through cycles of isolated pressure and then release. This will help alleviate pain associated with chronic tightness.
Massage and Chiropractic Care
Combining chiropractic care and massage can be beneficial in many ways. Both therapies work together combining a much faster recovery time. Adding massage into your chiropractic care will allow correction of the spine to occur easier. It will also decrease discomfort that may be caused by manipulation of the spine.
